CONCORD, Calif. (KRON) -- Three Cessna planes were tipped over by high winds at Buchanan Field Airport in Concord on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Eastbound 580 reopened after big rigs were overturned by high winds on Richmond bridge The incident happened around 2 p.m., and the FAA reports that none of the planes were preparing for flight at the time. A Cessna 210 and two Cessna 172s were flipped in the incident. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A shelter in place due to glass falling off a San Francisco high rise at 555 California Street between Montgomery Street and Spring Street has been lifted according the San Francisco Fire Department. Earlier, people were being asked to avoid the area, expect traffic delays and consider alternate routes. Two windows have been shattered due to high winds and several blocks are closed for the public's safety. Businesses in the area were told to shelter in place. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco State University students are navigating through a maze of storm destruction on campus as strong wind gusts continue to blow down big trees.University officials wrote a message to the campus community stating, "With high winds and fallen trees on and around campus, please exercise increased caution. Some call it the "Pi Day Blizzard" of 2021, and it ended up being among the top four largest storms on record in Denver.Below is a satellite image of the strong low-pressure system moving across the United States. The storm lasted two days, bringing 27.1 inches of snow to Denver and blizzard conditions. At one point, wind gusts were up to 50 mph in Denver, with snowfall rates of 3 inches per hour. DENVER (KDVR) -- A Denver Police officer was arrested and accused of stealing thousands by billing time he did not work to a private employer he was working for while off-duty.According to the Denver Police Department, Ryan Roybal was arrested for an investigation of felony theft. He has been placed on unpaid administrative leave while the case makes its way through the justice system.An internal affairs investigation was launched after DPD found that Roybal had not been present for several shifts at an off-duty job between April and August 2022.
