Stolen firearm, drug paraphernalia seized in Livermore traffic stop, 1 arrested

(KRON) -- One man was arrested and a stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia were seized in a traffic stop in Livermore last week, according to the Livermore Police Department. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday, July 26 at around 1 a.m. on a 2015 Cadillac for vehicle code violations, including expired tags.The Cadillac was stopped on Airway Boulevard near Clubhouse Drive. VIDEO: Car crashes into Redwood City home Police said the driver, 59-year-old Michael Silva of Livermore, was a convicted felon and had a suspended license for DUI. LOS ANGELES (AP) — UCLA has promoted Nate Georgeton to assistant on coach Mick Cronin’s basketball staff and added two assistants.Georgeton has spent the last four seasons at UCLA as video coordinator and the team’s director of student-athlete development. He replaces Ivo Simovic, who left after one year to be an assistant with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.Nemanja Jovanovic and Brendyn Taylor were added to the staff. Jovanovic will serve as both an assistant and director of international recruiting. He has had stints at UT Arlington, DePaul and SMU.Taylor spent the last two seasons as a grad assistant at St. John’s. At UCLA, he will help with player development, scouting and oversee a mentoring program for incoming freshmen. DENVER (KDVR) — Chandler Lipe, the founder and CEO of The Den in Denver, reached out to the FOX31 Problem Solvers after she said she's been dealing with construction outside her business since the start of May. “It's really challenging to navigate what we need to do with the city in order to open on top of everything you have to navigate with a small business, with a new concept," Lipe said. Lipe's business is a family-friendly social club for parents and kids along with a coffee shop at the front. The levels range from low — less than 2 — to over 11, which is considered extreme.The National Weather Service calculates the UV index based on a number of factors. DENVER (KDVR) -- Heavy storms moved into the Denver metro Monday, which brought lightning and hail and caused flooding. The Pinpoint Weather team said showers and thunderstorms were possible on Monday evening for Denver and may not end until around midnight. The storms will be moving slowly, which could lead to heavy rain in some spots.One video shows a series of lightning in northeast Denver, while another shows hail in Castle Rock.Daniel and Laura Raymond's son, Hudson, decided to make a street in Castle Rock into a water park and floated down it like a lazy river on a tube.Streets in Douglas and Larimer counties were flooded, and police were warning drivers not to proceed through deep water. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office closed Monarch Road between Castle Pines Parkway and Stonedale Drive because of flooding. "Four cars underwater, no one is trapped.
