MADRID (AP) — Marc Márquez said Tuesday he will miss the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas this weekend because his hand hasn’t fully healed after surgery. The six-time MotoGP champion had already missed the Argentine MotoGP after undergoing surgery to repair his right hand’s first metacarpal that he fractured in a crash at the season-opening Portuguese MotoGP.Márquez had two screws inserted into his hand. He said the decision not to race in Austin, Texas, was made after his doctor analyzed the result of his latest CAT scan.“The bone is still in the process of healing,” Márquez said on Twitter. “We have decided not to take any risks and therefore I won’t be able to ride in Austin. I will continue working and rehabilitating as I have been doing so far to be able to get back on the bike as soon as possible.”Race officials penalized Márquez for “irresponsible riding” that led to the crash in Portugal. He was handed a double long lap penalty, which requires riding throu...Detective details investigation in trial of slain kids’ mom

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — It all started with a call about a Jeep suspected in a shooting, an Idaho detective told jurors Tuesday in the triple murder trial of a woman accused in the death of her two children and a romantic rival. But investigators soon found evidence that raised suspicions of a bigger crime, Rexburg Detective Ray Hermosillo said, including lying witnesses; a stash of weapons, duct tape and rope; and evidence that two children were missing. The search eventually led them to a local man’s yard and two gruesome burial sites containing the kids’ remains. Lori Vallow Daybell and her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, are both charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, murder and grand theft in connection with the deaths of Vallow Daybell’s two youngest children: 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and big sister Tylee Ryan, who was last seen shortly before her 17th birthday in 2019. The children were buried on Chad Daybell’s eastern Idaho property. Prosecutors also cha...Column: PGA and LIV produced a Masters just like any other

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — The Masters had eight major champions finish among the top 10 and ties, and where they made a living became a mere footnote when Jon Rahm slipped into the green jacket. For the most part, it was a Masters just like any other. That includes the final hour. As much drama as Augusta National can create, this was the fourth straight year the winner had at least a four-shot lead with four holes to play. This wasn’t the first major with both PGA Tour and LIV Golf players. What caused so much anticipation was the Masters being the first major since the two tours began waging an expensive battle in federal court. And so the Masters became the first look at how the two sides would get along (fine), and how LIV Golf players would fare over 72 holes against a full field (even better).Brooks Koepka led from the second hole Friday morning until the sixth hole Sunday afternoon until he suffered through an inglorious 22-hole stretch without a birdie, and Rahm shot 69 to win b...Snow slide closes Berthoud Pass

The steeple of a church in Cambridge that went up in flames on Sunday has now been taken down. A crane was seen lifting the steeple off the Faith Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon. Officials previously said they were concerned about the structure collapsing after the fire, which sent massive flames ripping through the building not long after Easter services. Cambridge Fire Chief Tom Cahill estimated that, at one point, there were 150 firefighters from about a dozen departments trying to put the flames out. Several firefighters suffered minor injuries, but are expected to be okay.Church officials have said it’s unclear whether any part of the remaining structure can be saved. The cause of the fire remained under investigation as of Monday.Civil rights activist Mel King given final farewell at funeral in Boston

A huge crowd came out to bid a final farewell to civil rights activist Mel King during his funeral on Tuesday at the Union United Methodist Church in the South End.King, who died last month at the age of 94, was the first Black person to reach a Boston mayoral general election forty years ago. He also served in the state legislature, among other roles. Both the church itself and a nearby park were packed as individuals watched the funeral on a large screen. Another screen was set up at City Hall.Among those at the service was former Mayor and City Councilor Kim Janey, who said she couldn’t have become Boston’s first Black and first woman mayor without King. “I stand on Mel King’s strong shoulders as the first woman mayor, as the first black mayor to lead Boston and there is no question in my mind it is because of his work and what he has done,” Janey said.Sen. A pair of state lawmakers are looking into the impacts of slashing office time from five days to four, and are hoping their new bill will help get the ball rolling in Massachusetts via a pilot program.Filed by Rep. Josh Cutler, D-Plymouth, and Rep. Dylan A. Fernandes, D-Falmouth, “An Act relative to a four-day workweek pilot program” aims to help those who might be barely getting by at work, and possibly replicate the positive results seen in similar trials, one of which involved researchers from Boston College.“I think momentum is definitely growing to get more creative in the way we look at our workplace and the nature of work,” Cutler told 7NEWS. “And having a four-day workweek is a natural component of that.”The legislator said the pilot program would be voluntary for businesses. Participants would qualify for a tax credit and, in turn, the businesses would reduce employee hours without reducing pay.“Everyone’s talking about tight ...Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg sues Rep.
